A SNEAK PEAK IN THE HISTORY

"THE ROSETTA STONE"

INTRODUCTION:-

When the last temple was closed in the 6th century A.D. , the skills of reading HIEROGLYPHS was lost until the discovery of this stone in 1799.

WHAT DID THE STONE CONTAIN?

It had three scripts the bottom section was in Greek , the center in

Demotic ,and the top was in Hieroglyphs.It was an elaborate "THANK YOU" to the Greek ruler of Egypt PTOLEMY V.

WHO DECIPHERED IT..?:-

French archaeologist, JEAN-FRANCOIS

CHAMPOLLION spent many years deciphering the Rosetta stone .Knowing that

the script contained the name of Ptolemy, from this information the text was gradually deciphered .He also had a great help from the other two scripts ,as all the three scripts contained the same thing.

"HUNTING & FISHING"

INTRODUCTION:

We all love fishing and hunting.We all mostly follow modern techniques to hunt and fish.But the EGYPTIANS had their own ancient ways and some are listed below:

ARROWS:

BOWS and ARROWS were their main source usually igniting the end with fire or just simply using spears.

HOOKS:

COPPER and BRONZE were used to make hooks and thrown in the water , once the fishes were caught the EGYPTIANS would pull them out and dry them in the SUN and later on eat them.

FISHING NET:

EGYPTIANS used fishing net for over 3,000 years ago.they made nets from reed and papyrus twine both for catching fishes and birds.
